The evaluation kit consists of three Talkers and a simple-to-use Java-based application program interface, allowing users to reach remote Talker units over a wireless network, set individual thresholds for the devices, log data over time, and display results.
Discussing the ease with which Talker's can be set up in all locations, Roland F. An evaluation kit includes three Talkers. Two provide the means for connection of sensors while the CAP unit provides for network access from a PC, laptop, or the Internet. Together, the three Talkers automatically establish a wireless mesh networking "community," relaying information to each other and collectively, all coordinated through Java-based display/control software running in a controlling computer system.
Inside each MSU are a temperature sensor, light sensor, and a 3-Axis accelerometer. To accommodate external sensor input, the MSU services standard analog and digital input. The availability of new and different types of low-power sensors and detectors is increasing daily. MachineTalkers provide an easy and less technical means for wireless connection, eliminating the major cost of installing wired sensors.
